Befriending the Body Kelly McGonigal, PhD Sunday - September 26th, 2010 1:30 - 4:00 p.m. COST: $50
Chronic stress, pain, injury, or illness can leave us feeling at war with our bodies, or betrayed by our bodies. Even our yoga practice can sometimes feel like a battle with the body. But yoga can also be a practice of befriending the body, offering healing movement, compassionate attention, and skillful self-care. In this workshop, we will practice listening to the body, caring for the body, and feeling gratitude for the body. In addition to an all-levels gentle movement practice, you will learn yoga therapy breathing, relaxation, and meditation practices that are powerful tools for self-care.
