This is truly one of the most peaceful, beautiful retreat centers on earth, and we're not the only one that appreciates this pristine place—we had to book this retreat 2 years in advance—that was the first availability they had! Green Gulch Farm/Zen Center, also known as Green Dragon Temple (Soryu-ji), is a Buddhist practice center in the Japanese Soto Zen tradition. The effort at Green Gulch is to awaken people to the bodhisattva spirit, the spirit of kindness and realistic helpfulness, and you will feel that as soon as you step onto the property.
Green Gulch Farm is located in Marin County(Muir Woods), just north of San Francisco, in a valley that opens out onto the Pacific Ocean. In addition to the temple program of zen and study, it includes an organic farm and garden (Green Gulch), as well as a guest house and conference center. We will have the entire guest house to ourselves as well as the yurt, where we will practice yoga. In addition to daily yoga classes (we will offer beginning, intermediate, and restorative classes as well as meditation and pranayama) with us, there is ample hiking trails available (for beginners or advanced) right on the property. Muir beach is just a short walk away if you’d like to sit by the ocean. Muir Woods is also close by, and if you have never hiked there, it is worth seeing. The most delicious vegetarian fare will be served, with much of the meals being picked fresh from the garden. The guest house is very comfortable and clean with a nice wood burning stove in the center to keep warm and cozy. Tea, coffee and snacks will be available around the clock.
Space is limited. Please register early—a $200 deposit reserves you spot. Pricing is based on double occupancy, with a shared bathroom. A few private rooms are available at an additional cost.
This will be a special time to practice asana and feel the Joy & Acceptance that is so available in such a natural setting.
