The Sunday Women's Spiritual Group meets from 7 to 8:30 p.m. each Sunday at Downtown Yoga. The group's intention is to explore and share our experiences with spiritual teachings and praciices, both ancient and modern.
Each meeting begins with 20 minutes of meditation, which is followed by a discussion of the book we're currently studying. Previous books the group has read include: Using the Science of Mind by Ernest Holmes, Communion with God by Neale Donald Walsch, The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle, The Places That Scare You: A Guide to Fearlessness in Difficult Times by Pema Chodron, The Beginner's Guide to Insight Meditation by Arinna Weisman and Jean Smith, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, edited by Chip Hartranft, A Thousand Names for Joy, by Byron Katie with Stephen Mitchell.
We focus on sharing how we apply the teachings from these books and the practice of meditation in our everyday lives; members find it's a rich exchange of experience and insight and a wonderful way to start the new week. T
he group is open to all women. We each give an offering of $5 every Sunday to support the studio For more info contact: jane.murphy1@comcast.net (925) 425-9252 or (408) 398-1098 (cell)
