Who is it for?

This program is designed for the brand-new, ground-zero beginner.  It is for people who have heard that yoga would be good for them, but have had very little if any contact with yoga or a yoga class.  It’s for the person too stiff to jump into a “regular” beginner class.  It is for the person who knows they need to do something – but “going to a gym” or starting another “fitness regime” hasn’t worked yet.  It’s for the person ready to try something new that they can sustain over the long-term.

How is it structured?

This program meets once a week for 8-weeks.  The instruction is very basic yet thorough and covers the foundations of what a person would need to know to begin a safe and sane yoga practice.

What is covered in the 8-weeks?

During the 8-weeks the student will learn the basic fundamental principles such as breath-awareness, the proper way to enter and exit a pose so as not to injure one’s self.  The proper use of props in order to aid in finding ease and release in the poses.   How to protect the your back, knees, shoulders and neck from strain and injury in a yoga practice.

Once a student completes the Introduction to Yoga then they are totally welcome to participate in any Beginner’s Yoga classes.   Or, some people feel it valuable to repeat the Introduction to Yoga series.  It is entirely up to you.
