Kate teaches yoga from the heart in the Iyengar and vinyasa tradition. Experience precision, detailed instruction, and individual attention with the joy of movement and self-discovery. Kate is the creator of Stanford University's Yoga program and a graduate of Erich Schiffmann's teacher's program. She currently studies with Donald Moyer in Berkeley. Jim Coughlin-RYT: Jim was first introduced to yoga in 1967 at the age of 10. He began practicing yoga in earnest in 1993. Jim regularly travels to Bangalore, India for business, and to expand his knowledge of yoga with his teacher Arun H.S. (www.yogashraya.org). Jim teaches yoga with a sense of humor and grounded in the fundamentals of the Yoga Sutra's of Patanjali, the Bhagavad Gita, and the teachings of B.K.S. Iyengar.

| Melony Bravmann: After experiencing how yoga eased suffering in her own life, Melony became enamored of yoga's ability to heal and empower us to live stronger, more meaningful lives. The body is our most immediate vehicle for creative expression; it is our essential canvas. Melony encourages students to locate their unique relationship to their own bodies and to yoga. A foundation of Iyengar-style alignment combined with sequence, movement, breathing and meditation provide even deeper opportunities for exploration, creativity and discovery. Melony takes pleasure in sharing insights from her own practice in a safe, fun, and engaging environment. Melony is a 2007 Downtown Yoga Advanced Studies graduate.

Debbie Gilman: Debbie has been practicing yoga since 1987 and has been teaching throughout the Bay Area since 1997. Debbie graduated from The Yoga Room’s Advanced Studies Program in 2000 and has studied with two of America’s foremost Iyengar yoga teachers, Patricia Walden and Donald Moyer. She is currently on the faculty of the Advanced Studies Program at Downtown Yoga in Pleasanton. Debbie has a BA from Stanford University and an MA from Harvard. Debbie brings a love of teaching to her classes and works with students in a gentle, encouraging way. She leads students through well thought-out preparations that make the poses surprisingly accessible. Her classes aim to clear the mind while healing and energizing the body.

| Yvonne Konneker started ballet when she was seven and studied at the San Francisco Ballet School as a teenager. For several years she performed with a small modern dance company in Ventura. Later she learned meditation and yoga for self-development - and - completed the 200-hour Yoga Alliance certified program at The Yoga Company in San Ramon. She currently teaches at the Kaiser/Oracle ClubOne gym and at Downtown Yoga. She has a 10-year old son who enjoys dance and fishing. Yvonne is loving and enthusiastic, and genuinely interested in helping kids and adults live a body-connected, compassionate life.

Laurie Krause: Laurie Krause is a certified Yoga teacher with 5 + years of teaching experience. She is a graduate of the Diablo Yoga Center Advanced Studies Program and is currently studying at the Yoga Room in Berkeley. Laurie has a gentle approach and a passion for teaching Yoga.

Stacy McGinty: Stacy McGinty has been practicing yoga for over 5 years. She is recent graduate of Downtown Yoga’s Advanced Studies Program. She was first attracted to yoga after the birth of her second child. With a need to reconnect with her body, she began taking yoga classes and felt like she was “at home” with yoga after the first class. With over 15 years of experience as a personal trainer, Stacy enjoys bringing her knowledge of the body and wellness to her classes. She loves to share the inner journey with students and truly enjoys guiding people back to their inner selves through the movement of yoga. Stacy believes that yoga calms the mind and energizes the body. Her classes are taught with an emphasis on going within and listening to where you are in that moment through a vinyasa style yoga with an Iyengar influence.

Shauna Noel: Shauna has studied Iyengar Yoga for eight years. She is currently enrolled in the Advanced Studies Program at the Iyengar Institute in San Francisco. Her classes combine precise instruction and individual attention. She provides a safe environment for learning and a strong foundation to grow from.

| Greg Riley: Greg, a graduate of Diablo Yoga Center's advanced Studies Program, combines attention to alignment with awareness of the breath. He draws from his extensive experience as a world-champion Frisbee competitor and massage therapist/bodyworker to help students optimize their own mental, emotional, and physical potential. Greg seeks to practice yoga from the heart, with an emphasis on re-establishing the free flow of life force through the body resulting in healing and greater capacity to express one's innate splendor.

Stacey Ristow is a recent graduate of Downtown Yoga’s Advanced Studies Program. She has been practicing yoga for nine years which gives her a strong foundation in the art, yet she continues to learn new things with each and every practice. She believes in the power of yoga to break old habits and enable us to create new ways of being if we so choose. Stacey teaches with kindness and calmness that can be appreciated by beginners and seasoned practitioners alike.

| Lorey Wallace: Lorey has been a student of yoga since age seven. She studied Kundalini yoga in her teens. She is a graduate of the Yoga Room in Berkeley, California. She has studied yoga in India with the Swami's, Yogi's and Sages. She has been teaching yoga in the Bay Area for the last 17 years. Yoga students of all ages and levels will feel comfortable learning under the compassionate instruction of Lorey. Yoga is healing, fluid, flowing, adaptable and a dance.
